Martinrea Hopkinsville, LLC, an automotive supplier of lightweight structures and propulsion systems, announced plans to expand operations in Christian County, Kentucky. Plans for the project include adding 33 new jobs to the existing 515 workforce and investing $31 million to support the company’s growth. Economic development partners include Pennyrile RECC, Southwestern Kentucky Economic Development Council, City of Hopkinsville, Christian County, and the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development. Thermo Fisher Scientific, a leading global life sciences company, announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Wilson County, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 1,400 new jobs and investing $100 million in the Lebanon facility. KBR, Inc., which provides engineering, scientific and technical services to the defense and aerospace industries, announced plans to expand its operations in Huntsville, Alabama. Plans for the project include creating 160 new jobs to support the company’s growth. IGT Technologies, Inc., a technology and business process management company, announced plans to expand operations in Knoxville, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 200 new jobs and investing $3.9 million to support the company’s growth. Sungwoo Hitech America Corp, a global automotive supplier, announced plans to locate its first U.S. manufacturing operations in Washington County, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 117 jobs and investing $40 million in the Telford facility. Amazon, a global electronic commerce and cloud computing company, announced plans to establish a new, state-of-the-art fulfillment center in Clarksville, Tennessee.
