Colonial Chemical, a global supplier of surfactants used in consumer products, announced plans to expand operations in New Hope, Tennessee. Plans for the project include investing $13.8 million and creating 44 new jobs to expand operations and construct a new research and development laboratory. Economic development partners include Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative, Marion County, City of New Hope, and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.

Puritan Medical Products, North America’s largest manufacturer of COVID-19 testing swabs, announced plans to establish operations in Orlinda, Tennessee. Plans for the manufacturing and distribution operations include creating 625 new jobs and investing $220 million to support production of up to 200 million swabs per month. Economic development partners include Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation, Robertson County Economic Development Board, City of Portland, City of Orlinda and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development

General Motors and LG Energy Solution announced plans to locate Ultium Cells, LLC, the companies’ new joint-venture battery cell manufacturing plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Ultium Cells will manufacture batteries for GM’s new Electric Vehicle platform. Plans for the project include creating 1,300 new jobs and investing $2.3 billion in the new state-of-the-art facility. Economic development partners include Columbia Power and Water Systems, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Maury Alliance, Middle Tennessee Industrial Development Authority, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. LG Electronics, a world-leading home appliance manufacturer, announced plans to expand operations in Clarksville, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 334 new jobs and investing $20.5 million to meet unprecedented demand for the company’s top-rated washing machines. Economic development partners include Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation, Clarksville-Montgomery County Economic Development Council, and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. BRS Offroad North America, an offroad and luxury camper manufacturer, announced plans to establish operations in Lewis County, Tennessee. Plans for the company’s headquarters and manufacturing operations include investing $1.7 million and creating 115 new jobs at the Hohenwald facility. Economic development partners include Meriwether Lewis Electric Cooperative, City of Hohenwald, Lewis County, City of Hohenwald Industrial Development Board and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. This project helps further TVA’s mission to serve the people of the Valley by creating a better quality of life.

Miller Industries, a towing and recovery equipment manufacturer, announced plans to expand operations in Greeneville, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 80 new jobs and investing $15 million to renovate and upgrade operations. Economic development partners include Greeneville Light & Power System, Greene County Partnership and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Alphatec Spine, a provider of innovative solutions dedicated to revolutionizing the approach to spine surgery, announced today the intention to lease a 75,000 square foot facility in Memphis, Tennessee, which will house ATEC’s primary distribution operations. Plans for the project include investing $3.5 million and creating 95 jobs. Economic development partners include EDGE, Greater Memphis Chamber, City of Memphis, Shelby County and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Choate Engineering Performance, a manufacturer of engines and components for the automotive industry, announced plans to establish operations in Hardeman County, Tennessee. Plans for the project include investing $8 million and creating 100 jobs at the Bolivar facility. Economic development partners include Bolivar Energy Authority, City of Bolivar, Bolivar Industrial Development Board, Hardeman County and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Matalco Inc., a producer of aluminum products for manufacturing industries, announced plans to establish operations in Simpson County, Kentucky. Plans for the newly formed venture, Matalco Kentucky LLC, include creating 60 new jobs and investing $53.3 million to support growth and demand. Economic development partners include Franklin Electric Plant Board, Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development and the Franklin-Simpson Industrial Authority. Mullen Technologies, an emerging Electric Vehicle manufacturer, announced plans to establish operations in Memphis, Tennessee. Plans for project include creating 434 new jobs and investing $362 million to manufacture the company’s first line of fully electric vehicles. Economic development partners include Memphis Light, Gas and Water, EDGE, City of Memphis, Shelby County and the Memphis Chamber.
