NOVONIX, a developer of anode material for the lithium-battery market, announced plans to expand operations at its Chattanooga, Tennessee PUREgraphite facility. Plans for the project include creating 290 jobs and investing $160 million to address the need for a US-based lithium-ion battery supply chain, specifically for electric vehicles and similar storage applications. Economic development partners include EPB, Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce, City of Chattanooga, Hamilton County, and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Edelbrock, LLC, a manufacturer of high-performance aftermarket engine components, announced plans to locate its headquarter operations in Olive Branch, Mississippi. Plans for the project include creating 200 new jobs and investing $14 million, while retaining the company’s distribution operations at the Olive Branch location. Economic development partners include Northcentral Electric Cooperative, DeSoto County Economic Development Council, DeSoto County officials and Mississippi Development Authority. This project helps further TVA’s mission of service to help improve the quality of life for the people of the Valley.

 

Helen of Troy Limited, a leading designer and distributor of brand-name consumer products, announced plans to locate operations in Fayette County, Tennessee. Plans for project include creating 350 jobs at the new Gallaway distribution facility. Economic development partners include Chickasaw Electric Cooperative, Fayette County and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Orbital Effects, a cutting-edge radar satellite technology company, announced plans to expand in Huntsville, Alabama. The company will create 25 new jobs at Huntsville’s Cummings Research Park. Economic development partners include Huntsville-Madison County Chamber, City of Huntsville, Huntsville Utilities, and the Alabama Department of Commerce. Walgreen Company, a leading pharmaceutical and wellness products provider, announced plans to establish operations in Memphis, Tennessee. Plans for the company’s advanced fulfillment center include creating 200 jobs and investing $30 million. Economic development partners include Memphis Light, Gas and Water, City of Memphis, Shelby County, Greater Memphis Chamber and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Simple Logistics Solutions (SiLo), a transportation freight broker, announced plans to establish operations in Nashville, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 92 jobs and investing $700,000 in its headquarters operations. Advanex Americas, a global precision spring and component parts manufacturer, announced plans to locate its headquarters and manufacturing operations in White House, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 102 jobs and investing $17 million to support production of the company’s products, which are used in a variety of industries from ballpoint pens to space stations. Economic Development partners include Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation, Robertson County Economic Development Board, City of White House, and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development.
