Kyoto Fusioneering, a premier fusion technology and integrated systems developer, announced plans to establish operations in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Plans for this project include creating 51 new jobs and investing $47 million in the company’s U.S. headquarters operations in Anderson County. Economic development partners include Oak Ridge Electric Department, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, U.S. Department of Energy, City of Oak Ridge, Anderson County, East Tennessee Economic Development Agency, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development and TVA. BWXT, a nuclear energy company, announced plans to expand operations at its Nuclear Fuel Services, Inc. facility in Erwin, Tennessee.  Plans for the project include creating 198 new jobs and investing $122 million in the company’s Unicoi County facility as it grows its capabilities in support of national defense needs. Economic development partners include Erwin Utilities, Unicoi County Economic Development Board and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. BorTec USA, a manufacturer of pipes for the oil and gas industries, announced plans to establish operations in Johnson City, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 35 new jobs and investing $3 million in the company’s first U.S. location. Economic development partners include BrightRidge, the City of Johnson City, Washington County Economic Development Council, Northeast Tennessee Valley Regional Industrial Development Association, and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, announced plans to expand operations in Middle Tennessee. Plans for the projects include creating 355 new jobs in Mt. Juliet and adding 100 new jobs at the company’s Smyrna location. Combined, both projects represent a total planned investment of $85 million to support increased production capacity and expand the company’s presence in the region. Economic development partners include Middle Tennessee Electric, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce and the Joint Economic and Community Development Board of Wilson County.
