BorTec USA, a manufacturer of pipes for the oil and gas industries, announced plans to establish operations in Johnson City, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 35 new jobs and investing $3 million in the company’s first U.S. location. Economic development partners include BrightRidge, the City of Johnson City, Washington County Economic Development Council, Northeast Tennessee Valley Regional Industrial Development Association, and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, announced plans to expand operations in Middle Tennessee. Plans for the projects include creating 355 new jobs in Mt. Juliet and adding 100 new jobs at the company’s Smyrna location. Combined, both projects represent a total planned investment of $85 million to support increased production capacity and expand the company’s presence in the region. Economic development partners include Middle Tennessee Electric, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce and the Joint Economic and Community Development Board of Wilson County.
