Genera, a sustainable fiber and biomaterials company, announced plans to expand operations in Monroe County, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating more than 230 new jobs and investing $350 million in the agri-tech company’s Vonore facility. Economic development partners include Fort Loudoun Electric Cooperative, Monroe County mayor’s office, Monroe County Commission, Monroe County Economic Development, City of Vonore, Tellico Area Services Systems, the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, and East Tennessee Economic Development Agency. This project furthers TVA’s mission of service to help improve the quality of life for the people of the Valley.
