Kairos Power announced plans to establish a low-power demonstration reactor in Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Kairos Power, an advanced nuclear engineering company, announced plans to establish a low-power demonstration reactor in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Plans for the project include investing $100 million and creating 55 jobs to deploy the reactor, called Hermes, and advance Kairos Power’s manufacturing capabilities. Economic development partners include City of Oak Ridge Electric Department, East Tennessee Economic Council, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, City of Oak Ridge, Oak Ridge Industrial Development Board and Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. This project helps further TVA’s mission of service by improving the quality of life for the people of the Valley.
