General Motors and LG Energy Solution announced plans to locate Ultium Cells, LLC, the companies’ new joint-venture battery cell manufacturing plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee
General Motors and LG Energy Solution announced plans to locate Ultium Cells, LLC, the companies’ new joint-venture battery cell manufacturing plant in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Ultium Cells will manufacture batteries for GM’s new Electric Vehicle platform. Plans for the project include creating 1,300 new jobs and investing $2.3 billion in the new state-of-the-art facility. Economic development partners include Columbia Power and Water Systems, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, Maury Alliance, Middle Tennessee Industrial Development Authority, and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. This impactful economic development project helps to further GM’s commitment to an all-electric future, and TVA’s mission of service to improve the quality of life for the people of the Valley.
