Laser Isotope Separation Technologies (LIS) to Expand Operations in Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Laser Isotope Separation Technologies (LIS), a U.S. laser enrichment technology developer, announced plans to expand operations in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Plans for the project include creating 203 new jobs and investing $1.3 billion, becoming the first U.S. origin commercial laser uranium enrichment plant in the world, supporting U.S. utilities, next-generation reactor developers, and national defense requirements. Economic development partners include the City of Oak Ridge Electric Department, U.S. Department of Energy, Roane County, City of Oak Ridge, Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, and the East Tennessee Development Agency. This project furthers TVA’s mission of service to help improve the quality of life for the people of the Valley.
